Application: Demould and Pack with Cavity Seperation

Operating in a clean room, a stack tool produces 4 Left hand parts (fixed tool half) and 4 right hand parts (moving tool half).

Two GeKu beam robots, operated by a single control, are deployed to allow demoulding of all eight cavities. Then, through a combination of robot movement and operation of a complex gripper mechanism, the parts are re-orientated to allow packing into precision vacuum formed trays.

Each tray is designated to one particular cavity to allow complete tractability of parts originating from the production process. The empty trays are loaded into a special conveyor system, (designed and built by GeKu), by the operator, after which the bottom tray in the stack is then decanted and moved into the robot envelope to allow loading of the parts.

Once the tray is filled, it is automatically returned and presented back into the stack as the uppermost tray so that parts can be easily removed to allow quality inspection.

Benefits:

• Consistent moulding cycle.
• Parts tracability.
• Improved quality.
• Reduction in operator service time.
