GeKu Automation have installed twin robots handling whisky casks at a major distillery in Scotland.
The state of the art cooperage feeds reconditioned casks through a conveyor system to a collection point at the robot. The robots are ABB 6640 models each mounted on an 8 meter linear track.
The casks are handled with a specially designed mechanical gripper and loaded into a charring oven for treatment.
Once the charring is complete the robot collects the cask and places on an outgoing conveyor.
