Electrical Box Assembly
Geku Automation have recently completed the installation of Honeywells electrical box assembly cell.
The cell consists of an ABB 1400, 6 axis robot demoulding a single impression box from an injection moulding machine. The box is then placed onto a holding fixture for an ABB 140 robot to pick and present to an insert loading station to recieve four plastic bung inserts. The box is then handed back to the demould robot to present the box to a second insert load station, this time inserting earth terminals that are bowlfed automatically.
Each insert load station has the capability to detect rejects to maintain 100% quality control.
Finally, the robot places the finished component onto an output conveyor to exit the production cell.
The operator can select three product variants, each with the choice of the number of earth terminals to insert into the part.
