Twin Robot Packaging
Geku Automation designed and installed a twin robot packaging cell equiped with a specialised four track conveyor indexing system. The plastics manufacturer based in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland, currently have five Geku Automation cells.
The operation involves empty vacuum formed trays to be loaded onto the operator side of the conveyor system and indexed to the robot. The twin cartesian robots then demould Ink cartridge componants from an 8 impression stack tool and load into the trays.
Each robot is equiped with a specialised gripper system to orintate the parts to the necessary place position.
Once the trays have been filled the conveyor system is able to store 32 trays which is approximatly 4000 componants until an operator is required to remove and reload fresh trays.
