Sprinkler Head Clipping

Geku Automation have supplied a clipping cell into the diecast industry. The application requires a hopper loader to feed sprinkler heads previously removed from a diecast machine into a bowlfeeder that orientates the parts and presents them to an ABB140 robot.

The robot then picks 3 parts from a separation track and places them into a clipping machine to remove any flash. Once clipped, the parts are then placed into a shuttle lift up to  bowlfeeder no.2. From here, they are bowlfed to a test station where we can monitor the tensile strength of the parts, they are then passed or rejected and separated into relevant tote bins.

The overall cycle time for this application is three parts every 3.2 seconds.

Please press the play button to see the system in action.

  • 3 parts clipped and tension tested every 3.2 seconds
  • Tensile strength tested then rejected if failed
  • 100% quality inspection
